Warangal is a city in the south Indian state of Telangana. It was the capital of the Kakatiya dynasty from the 12th to 14th centuries.
Many intricately carved monuments from this period still stand strong. Among them are the ruins of 13th-century Warangal Fort and the Thousand Pillar Temple, built in 1163 are more prominent.
Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple, Telangana
Rudreshwara, popularly known as Ramappa Temple, is located in the village of Palampet approximately 200km north-east of Hyderabad, in the State of Telangana. It is the main Shiva temple in a walled complex built during the Kakatiyan period (1123–1323 CE) under rulers Rudradeva and Recharla Rudra. It is located 66 km from Warangal city of Telengana.
This temple is included in UNESCO world heritage site
